I wrote this while waiting for an appointed fare. Bored with nothing else to do. The first line of the second verse is from a Nirvana song that happened to be playing while I was thinking of a first line of that verse. I think it worked out great.
TIP PLEASE
Tryin' to keep a level head
Waitin' for a fare
Wantin' someone to flag me down
I'll take you where you wanna go
I'll charge you a fair price
I'll get you there before your flight
I got a new complaint
It's customary to give your cabbie a little extra
It helps me get some food
But if you can only meet the fare
I'll give you a wave goodbye
Take my card, I'll make you a regular
Let us strike up a conversation
Let's talk about something interesting
If you know cars and music, you have my attention
I don't care to know your girl problems
You don't need to tell me the "meaning of life"
I know where I'm goin' when I'm gone
He gave me this job. He Brings me every fare. He gives me tips. He keeps me safe on the road. I don't ask why. I cannot complain. But I can give all glory to Him.
Our God Reigns,
